A violent dispute between a stepfather and stepson erupted in a Yishun flat earlier this week, leaving household furniture, including a shoe rack, damaged.
Shin Min Daily News reported that the unit is home to a family of three—a married couple and a man in his 30s. The two men involved were known to have frequent disagreements.
Neighbors told the Chinese daily that before police arrived at the scene, the fight had spilled out from inside the flat into the corridor. During the altercation, the younger man suffered a head injury.
Authorities later escorted both individuals away while officers inspected the residence. Witnesses observed that an outdoor shoe rack was shattered, with shoes scattered across the floor.
The police and Singapore Civil Defence Force confirmed receiving an assistance call around 10am on June 1 at Block 510A Yishun Street 51. A 35-year-old man was taken conscious to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital for treatment.
A 57-year-old man was assessed for minor injuries but declined hospitalization. Both men were arrested on charges of affray as investigations continue.
