Hongqi Steps into Singapore Spotlight, Showcasing Three Models at 2026 Motor Show

Chinese premium automotive marque Hongqi has officially entered the Singapore market, marking a significant milestone for the brand as it appoints Eurokars Group as its authorised distributor. The debut took place at the 2026 Singapore Motor Show, where Hongqi introduced local audiences to its flagship all-electric SUV, the E-HS9.

As the brand’s leading SUV model globally, the E-HS9 represents Hongqi’s vision for next-generation luxury mobility. The full-size electric SUV combines advanced intelligent systems with a bold visual identity, highlighted by the brand’s signature Red Line motif and distinctive Matrix LED lighting. A series of design details, including illuminated C-pillar light bars that indicate battery status, sleek rear LED lighting and flush door handles, reinforce its modern and high-tech appeal.

Powering the E-HS9 is a substantial 120kWh battery pack, offering a driving range of up to 548 kilometres on a single charge. Energy is delivered through a dual-motor setup that sends power to all four wheels, producing up to 357kW and 606Nm of torque. This configuration positions the SUV firmly within the premium electric performance segment.

Technology plays a central role in the E-HS9 experience. The model is equipped with advanced vehicle-to-everything connectivity, enabling communication with nearby vehicles and road infrastructure to support enhanced awareness and safety. Inside, the cabin is designed as a luxury lounge, featuring a wide panoramic digital display, high-grade leather seats with ventilation and massage functions, and one of the largest panoramic sunroofs available in its class.

While the E-HS9 is expected to be Hongqi’s first production model for Singapore, the brand’s motor show presence extends beyond vehicles destined for local roads. Visitors to the booth can also view two ultra-luxury full-size sedans from Hongqi’s exclusive Golden Sunflower collection. These showcase models offer a glimpse into the brand’s craftsmanship and heritage, though they are not planned for commercial release in Singapore.

Looking ahead, Hongqi’s expansion plans are already taking shape. A dedicated showroom is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2026, coinciding with the local launch of the E-HS9. Industry sources indicate that the six-seat variant is being considered for the Singapore market, aligning with demand for spacious premium electric SUVs.

To mark its official arrival, Hongqi has introduced an interactive feature at its Singapore Motor Show stand. Visitors are invited to take part in a symbolic activity celebrating the brand’s entry into the local automotive landscape, with selected participants receiving limited-edition collectibles inspired by the E-HS9.

With its first showcase in Singapore, Hongqi signals its intention to become a notable new presence in the premium electric vehicle space, blending distinctive design, advanced technology and luxury positioning as it prepares for its next phase of growth in the region.
