Music power couple Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez already have their dream wedding guest lined up - none other than global superstar Ed Sheeran. The chart-topping singer is reportedly at the top of their VIP invitation list, though the lovebirds haven't even set a date yet.
The producer, 37, recently spilled the beans during an appearance on Australia's Today show, revealing how he casually invited his longtime friend and collaborator. "I just told him, 'I'm going to have a wedding and you're going to come to the wedding,'" Benny shared with a smile. While details remain under wraps for now, he assured fans: "Eventually Ed will come to our wedding when we do have one."
The musical duo first sparked romance rumors in December after more than a year of dating before making their engagement official. Their creative chemistry quickly translated from personal life to professional when they unexpectedly created what would become their first joint album - I Said I Love You First - released this past March.
"We just started making music in our house as a little fun activity," Benny explained about their organic creative process. What began as casual jam sessions soon turned into full-fledged tracks that kept multiplying until they had enough material for an entire project.
Working together proved magical for the couple, though not without its humorous challenges. During recording sessions at home, an unlikely culprit nearly caused discord between them - persistent birds that only chirped during Selena's vocal takes. "I didn't believe her for the first two weeks," Benny admitted during an appearance on Smallzy's Surgery podcast.
The Only Murders in the Building star has been refreshingly candid about adjusting to her new relationship status since getting engaged last winter. During an April episode of Table Manners podcast alongside her partner-in-crime (and life), she confessed: "[Calling him my fiance is] so strange." Instead preferring more casual terms like "my partner" or simply using his name.
Benny hasn't been shy about expressing his devotion either - recalling on Spotify's Countdown To series how one kiss changed everything: "I knew right after we kissed... I was like 'Oh wow.'" While marriage wasn't immediately on his mind post-smooch, fatherhood certainly was as he thought: "'I'm probably going to have a baby with this person.'"
As fans eagerly await wedding details (and potential baby news), one thing seems certain - when these two music icons finally say "I do," Ed Sheeran will be front row cheering them on alongside what promises to be Hollywood's most star-studded guest list.
